Targeting Mechanosensitive Signaling Pathways to Modulate Gastroschisis-Related Intestinal Inflammation and Dysmotility (GRIID)
    The Hartwell Foundation A24-0129Apr 1, 2023 - Apr 30, 2025
    Role: Principal Investigator
Description: My overarching aim is to characterize and elucidate the mechanosensitive signaling mechanisms driving the inflammation-mediated damage that occurs in gastroschisis, with the secondary goal of identifying novel therapeutic targets that can be modulated in utero to mitigate the gastroschisis-related intestinal inflammation and dysmotility (GRIID).
Determining the role of mechanosensitive Piezo1 in the developing gut
    Children's Miracle Network (CMN) S-CMN2022Jun 1, 2022 - May 30, 2024
    Role: Principal Investigator
Description: The overarching aim of this grant is to establish the functional expression of Piezo1 in the developing gut to elucidate the signaling mechanisms necessary for intestinal development. My long-term goal is to define the role of Piezo1 mediated mechanosensation in the developing gut to establish novel therapeutic targets for NEC and related gut disorders affecting the neonate.

Altmetrics Details PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
